Car ownership and car kilometres amongst young people has declined over the past ten years, whereas car ownership and car kilometres amongst older people has increased significantly.

- In 2015 all private cars together (lease cars are excluded) drove 91 billion kilometres. An increase of more than 6% versus the 86 billion kilometres in 2005.
- The age group 50+ increased its kilometres by onethird.
